Had 2 B there

Toronto Canada

The SUNY Cortland Gospel Choir that I perform with had the opportunity to sing at the First Baptist Church (FBC). The performance was one of best and most moving to date.

FBC is the oldest African-Canadian church in Toronto. The church was started by 12 runaway slaves from the Southern US under the leadership of Elder Washington Chistian in 1826.  Just recently the church celebrated its 182 year anniversary. Arguably, FBC could be the oldest and longest running Black institution in all of the Western… Read more

Honeye Falls Wedding Reception Revue.

Soft Spoken Rocks!!! They were the highlight of our wedding reception. As soon as we arrived at the reception guest were coming up to us and asking where we found this great band. Guests have been telling us even weeks later that they were the best wedding band they had ever heard and they got people up and dancing who would not usually get up and dance. Reggie is true professional making himself available at anytime to talk through any details we wanted to discuss. Their experience and professionalism kept…Read more

Wedding at Glenora Wineries

The Following is a copy/paste of a Oct 2012 Soft Spoken Band wedding revue from a satisfied Bride.

I WILL recommend Soft Spoken to anyone looking for a great party band. The dance floor was packed all night, with ages ranging from 19-80 yrs old. Everyone LOVED the band. Reggie, the Manager, was MORE than accomodating. He made the entire wedding process very smooth & worry-free. The whole band's professionalism & talent were the talk of the entire wedding. Friendly, approachable, passionate and talented. I…Read more

Some Words from Jay Harmon

Recently, Jay Harmon, Saxophonist Extriodoinnaire; had this to say about Soft Spoken Band's new recording and the Juneteenth weekend.

"I like it! The quality is nice! I like the horns, and needless to say,  Donna is still on top of her game. Believe me when I tell you,  Soft Spoken was MISSED this weekend."

Kirk Franklin

I had the blast of an opportunity to perform on stage with the infamous Kirk Franklin this past Saturday.  He directed a mass choir at  Colgate University and my choir "SUNY Cortland Gospel Choir" was a part of it.  Here are a couple of pictures of my nephew Nilos and others posing for my camera.

Booker T. Washington's 80th Anniversary Party

The Booker T. Washington Center in Auburn, NY celebrated it's 80th anniversary on November 9, 2007 with the Soft Spoken Band.  It was held in the gymnasium at the BTW Center which was creatively piped & draped and beautifully decorated with round tables with white linen.  It was so nicely done that one could have very easily forgotten that it was the same space usually used for basketball and the likes.  The evening started out with a few performances by some of the center's paticipants who then…Read more

Benefit Concert @ BST

Last night we mixed 8 bands in 11 hours at the Bridge Street Tavern in Sovay.  The event was a benefit concert for Joshua Davis a young man  who died in an auto accident.  He was son of the owner of Gianelli Sausage.  Needless to say there was plenty of food on hand as well as beverages donated by Onondaga Beverage Co..  The bands were crankin' out the tunes and the sytstem was soundin' great.   The only drawback to the day was that it  rained lightly off and on all day long, but it didn't stop the people…Read more
